BABY BOOMERS

ROCK, RHYTHYM & BLUES, OLDIES BAND

VOTED THE BEST OLDIES BAND IN THE AREA

Re-experience those wonderful days of Sock-Hop, DooWop, The Twist, Bill Haley & The Comets, The Big Bopper, The Supremes, The Marvellettes, Elvis, and oh, so many more.

NOT JUST ANOTHER TOP 40 COVER BAND

While other bands will give you the big artist and the song that made them famous, we will also give you that same artist, that same song, plus we will go deep into their albums for songs that you probably haven't heard since your senior year in high school.

Example: Request Aretha Franklin from most other oldies band and you'll, more than likely, get Respect. We will give you Respect, Say A Little Prayer, Natural Woman, Do Right Woman, Do Right Man and more.

Request Chuck Barry and you'll probably get, Johnny B. Goode. We will give you Johnny B. Goode, plus we will add Memphis, Maybeline, Sweet Little Sixteen and more.

How about the Girl Groups? Any band will give you the Supremes, even us. But we will also give you a wide selection from The Chiffons, The Shirelles, The Marvellettes, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, plus many more.

But we will also give you the female solo artist that others bands seemed to have forgotten about. How about Rescue Me, by Fontella Bass? How about Don't Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston? And even Gloria Gaynor's, I Will Survive? Or how can they omit the original Queen of Motown, Mary Wells? We didn't. We cover a wide selection of her recordings.

Want further proof that our songs will really bring back some wonderful but long forgotten memories? Just check out our play list.

OUR BEGINNINGS

The Baby Boomers - Rock, Rhythym & Blues, Oldies Band, was organized by Sal Melendez. The original idea behind forming the group was to get a few ex-musicians together to jam on weekends. To sit around in the garage, play our oldies, drink a few beers and tell a few lies. Just a bunch of old retired geezers, reliving our "Happy Days" through our oldies music. But something happened on the way to no where.

The more we played the better we sounded. Our sound had a somewhat different sound than what you would normally hear from today's oldies band. We found that we were playing songs that other bands wouldn't touch. This was not by design. It just so happened that each one of us enjoyed playing songs that the radio stations no longer played. Songs that we haven't heard since high school. We like to call them "deeply buried" album cuts.

A perfect example of this are songs played by the most popular band in rock & roll history, The Rolling Stones. We cover some of their "deeply buried" songs such as, Time Is On My Side, It's All Over Now, Walking The Dog and other very early works. Sure we'll play Satisfaction. Who doesn't? But we found the "deeply buried", and long forgotten songs, gave us that little extra bit of satisfaction of our own.

We may not be the best musicians, but we do promise one thing. We will rekindle some long lost wonderful memories. When we finish playing for you, when your driving home, you will say to yourself, "I haven't danced like that, or had this much fun since high school". Yea, it's what we do.
